IN MEMORIAM:
CRAIG RASMUSSEN
CRAIG RASMUSSEN
PASADENA, JANUARY 14, 2022 — It is with profound sadness that we note the passing of our dear friend and charter Pacific Electric Railway Historical Society member, Craig Rasmussen. He was 76.
Craig was an integral member of the Southern California rail community, whose knowledge of the Pacific Electric and Los Angeles Railways was unmatched. Craig was one of the first members of PERYHS when it was founded in 2000 by Jack Finn, along with Alan K. Weeks, Walter Abbenseth and others. In his professional life, Craig worked in law enforcement, ultimately retiring to the mountains to pursue PE/LARY research with his extensive collection.
Craig was always first to offer historic knowledge and assistance in our research endeavors. His passing is an incalculable loss to the PE/LARY historic preservation community.
Craig is survived by his wife of 33 years, Julie, his children and grandchildren, and innumerable friends and fellow railfans from around Southern California and the world.
