The Pacific Electric Railway had only double-end PCCs – no single-end versions.

The PE PCCs were the first double-enders and the first with MU capability. PE required double-ended cars because many of their outer terminals did not have space for the loops or wyes needed by single ended PCCs. Cars could loop through 6th & Main, but not the Subway Terminal.
