    This grade crossing is now a Metrolink line. This photo faces northwest where the line crosses “E” St.(Now Fairplex Dr.) at the border of La Verne and Pomona. The house on the right side of the photo still exists at the southwest corner of Fairplex Dr. and Walnut St.

    I believe that home was owned by members of the Palomares family for many years. The Palomares and Vejar families were very early settlers in the Pomona Valley.
