It’s 1940 and Pacific Electric no. 107 is at San Marino Station (located at Huntington and San Marino Drives). It’s a local car about to make a northbound run on Sierra Madre Boulevard.

What a gorgeous picture! Does anyone know what color this car had? Was it red and yellow maybe?

Not sure about the color, but the use of 107 on the Sierra Madre line was rather short lived. The 100s spent their last few years on the Echo Park Ave. line with a more typical 1940s PE paint job, and their air whistles (needed on their previous San Bernardino and Riverside assignments, and on the Sierra Madre line) were removed when they went to LA street running operation.

Ira Swett in Interurbans Special #28 states that 107 was painted red and cream. My uneducated guess is that the shade of red and cream was identical to that of the “Valley Sevens” had been painted red and cream around the same time that 107 was given this paint scheme.
