005 Motoring Through
Pacific Electric wrecker 005 (formerly box motor 1413) passes through a grade crossing somewhere in the Southern Division, possibly near Slauson Tower on the Four Tracks section of the Long Beach Line.

This looks to me like Four Tracks at or near Watts.
Is that the AT&SF Harbor District running along the far edge of the street? Is Slauson Tower lurking just out of view to the left?
Judging from the cars in the background, early 40’s. There were two 005’s, and this appears to be 005-II, which was box motor 1438 up to 1948. (information from Interurbans Special 37)
Paul – I think you are correct. I believe those are the Santa Fe tracks, so that would definitely make this Slauson. Looks like there is a flagman in the far left side of the frame flagging the crossing. I think that activity of flagging the crossing only happened at Slauson Jct. on the 4 Tracks. – Steve Crise
