1253 San Pedro-Bound

    The 1253 is one of the ex-Portland cars converted to Parlor Car service. Note the plush seats in the windows.

    Followed by PE 1252. If those are Parlor seats, why do they not show like this in photos of other cars in the 1252-class?

    Notice the new white paint and that water tower. Note PE 1254 looses Parlor Car lettering between 1936 and Sept. 1937. That water tower seems to be gone in 1937 photos. Is this the narrow window wherein the class was repainted and lettered? None of the class seems to have clean white tires by 9/37.
