Metropolitan Transit Authority (ex-Pacific Electric) no. 1520 is a northbound train from Long Beach on the 4 tracks. Image taken from the yet to be completed Santa Monica Freeway. A section of the freeway’s construction scaffolding can be seen in the right hand side of the frame.

In the photo the train is crossing East 16th Street. The track that crossed East 16th was not pulled up but just paved over, much of the track can still be seen where the black top has been worn down. The switch to the west, right in the photo, is the most visible today. The shop with the roll up door to the left in the photo is still there and seems to be in business. The view of the photo is looking South.
