This is the Henry Huntington Funeral Train
I have to correct myself. The 1000 series cars were delivered sans electical equipment which was installed by the Seventh & Alameda Shops. With a shortage of rolling stock, some of the new cars were pressed into service hauled by steeple cabs.
This photo can be dated to the summer of 1913.This is an LB line consist, with brand new unpowered 1000 cars.
